Sorry for the lack of photos lately.
Meanwhile you might want to have a look at a new blog I set up to show my drawings, Shutterspy Fine Line.
I can't update it very often though!

Calendar
My mum and I ordered a calendar of my photos from Sanpfish for my grandma. I'm not one to boast, but my photos looked so nice in print!
Those who know me, I can order one for you if you want*. It costs £16.98. It's made with really good quality thick paper and can be personalised with special dates (e.g. birthdays).
*Those who don't know me might be able to arrange to buy one.

Photos saved!
Dad managed to rescue the files from the corrupted hard drive! Three cheers for father! Hehe :-D

Hard disk corruption
My hard disk has corrupted. All my photos are on it. Is there no end to this?
I shall carry on posting for as long as possible - I have some uploaded and I shall try and take some more.
I hope this wont be the last straw for my readers :(

Finally!
The phone line has finally been mended!
I'm so sorry for such a long delay, especially after the delays caused by the computer breakage.
As with the previous problems, it may take a while to get back to normal, so please still expect sporadic posting for a (hopefully) short time. Catching up with your posts will also take a while.
Thank you for your patience and for sticking with the blog!
:-D

Complete loss
We have now have a complete loss of service. I am posting this at my workplace (although I'm not actually at work per se). BT are still doing nothing about it.

Apologies again
I'd just like to apologise for yet another delay in posting to this blog. Our house and four others in our road have an almost complete loss of the use of our telephone lines. The internet connection is slow and very sporadic, involving a lot of browser refreshing, loss of work and loss of patience! Apparently the road needs to be dug up to replace some corroded or damaged cables. The fault was first reported on the 30th July and over a week later nothing has been done about it.
Aside from the fact that we may be missing some important phone calls, I can't post to my blog very easily at all! So, my apologies to you again - sorry for delays so soon after the last problems!
For those of you (Americans *ahem*) who are about to post 'you're on DIAL-UP?!' I want to say that no, I'm not. I don't know what you have over in the States, but using a telephone line for one's internet connection does not necessarily mean dial-up. Just thought I'd let you know, because someone on a forum I belong to was astonished when I told him about the problem and told me to 'get with the times'!

Sorry about the poor quality
As you already know, my computer has broken yet again. Unfortunately, that means all my photos are currently inaccessible, so I am relying on 4th-rate photos which were uploaded a while ago that were never going to be published.
Sorry about this. I hope to be back up and running with some proper pictures soon :)

Notice: broken computer
The computer is broken at the moment and although I have limited use of my brother's, it's likely I will not post to ShutterSpy until Next Monday.

Notice
For those of you who are interested, I now have another photo blog: Birmingham Daily Photo.
Don't worry though, Shutterspy will still be continued!

Running out of inspiration!
Help! I'm running out of ideas of what to take photos of!
Remember, you can request photos/post ideas. (Can't guarantee anything though!)

New camera
I have a new camera!
And it's another Fujifilm FinePix!
It's an S5500. I bought it on eBay and it seems fine so far. It's a few years old. It has 10x zoom and 4.0 megapixels. It is not an SLR. I can actually control the shutter spead, aperture etc. and it has manual white balance! Imagine!
But expect only slightly improved photos ;-)

Thanks
Eleven people visited yesterday. I have received some comments and a few requests not to close ShutterSpy. I think I'll keep it going! Thanks everyone! :)

Closing ShutterSpy?
The number of this blog's readers/views has dropped (not that it was particularly high in the first place). I'm wondering if it's worth continuing. Seems a bit pointless really.
Take a look at my stats (bottom of page - click on Bravenet counter) - it's hardly worth it for that many people (ignore the yellow trend - that's page views/refreshes).
So anyway, if I stop posting, you'll know why.

I'm being spied on!
Someone at work has been looking through ShutterSpy. I don't know who it is.
I'm being spied on! Argh!
Obviously it's okay, because they're on the internet for all to see, but it feels a bit odd all the same!

Descriptions
I prefer my photos to speak for themselves. I present them as they are and one can make of them what they will. I like looking at photos because they give me a sort of 'visual flavour'. ShutterSpy is supposed to be like a daily visual snack. It's supposed to be simple and easy. However, a few of my regulars have alerted me to the fact that they prefer to have a bit of description with each photo and, as any pub landlord will tell you, your regulars are important! So with this in mind, I will try to include a bit of writing with some of the photos. Not all of them, but I suppose adding a bit of description here and there won't hurt.
If anyone has any feeback about this or any other aspect of the blog, please let me know!

Notice: Cheaper prints
You can now buy a wider range of prints directly from me, as well as the small number of more expensive prints from Lulu.com
I can either print them myself (cheapest option) or have them printed using a different company which is able to print smaller photos (second cheapest option).
Buying via eBay for security and peace of mind can also be arranged.
Please email me at or post a private entry on the guestbook if you are interested in purchasing any of the photos as prints or have any questions.
I accept PayPal, cheques (checks) or cash in GBP (£ Pounds Sterling) or USD ($ US Dollars). Prices may vary according to location. Posting (mailing) cheques (checks) or money is done at own risk.

Notice: Prints available to purchase
I am going to try allowing a small number of photographs to be purchased as prints/posters.
Where you see £$ under a photo, click on it to be taken to Lulu which is a print-on-demand service.
I have had a book printed by them before, but not photographs, so I can't guarantee the quality, although the delivery time is fast and the book was satisfactory.
I can't offer many photos for sale as either they are too small or the original files are on the broken computer.
Some photos without £$ under them may be available to purchase in a different way. Please post a comment somewhere and I will see what I can do. Photos that are too small to publish with Lulu can be ordered or printed by me, but you will need to arrange this with me privately (post a private entry on the guestbook).
Although I do earn a small percentage of the price, the photos you order on Lulu are not printed by me - the printing company processes your orders. I accept no responsibility for any problems caused by the company, should any arise.
Please note I retain full copyright of all photos.
Feedback on this idea (e.g. on the price or the general idea) is welcome - please post a comment below.
26 February 2008
Notice: requests
If anyone has any requests for photographs of certain subjects, then please post a comment on one of the photos or on the guestbook.
I can't guarantee a result, but I'll try.
Please keep requests reasonable - no requests for the Taj Mahal or the Amazonian rainforest! Requests such as 'an old Victorian building', 'a hamster in a wheel' or 'an abstract red and blue photograph' are fine.
